THE Big Harvest Community Sunday School held its 13th annual ‘Sunday School Rally in the Alley’ and awards presentation at Woods Alley off Market Street last week.
Hundreds of persons were in attendance to witness the youths of Big Harvest display their Biblical knowledge and talents.
Among the guests was Minister of State for Finance Michael Halkitis who represented the Prime Minister.
Pastor Lyall Bethel of Grace Community Church was the guest speaker.
Seven outstanding Sunday/Sabbath School teachers were presented with the Conquering Lion Award.
Music was provided by the Bahama Brass Band and the Urban Renewal Band.
The event, which organisers say was a huge success, was co-ordinated by former Assistant Commissioner of Police John Ferguson, the director of Big Harvest.
The community efforts of Big Harvest are focused specifically on underprivileged children and at-risk youths.
The church provides spiritual guidance to at an early age in an effort to help combat crime and anti-social behaviour.
