POLICE are searching for the culprits in two separate drive-by shootings and a spate of armed robberies this weekend.
Five armed robberies were reported on New Providence and two men are recovering in hospital from gunshot wounds, according to reports.
The first shooting occurred at a party in Marathon Estates sometime after 11:30pm on Saturday.
The victim was shot in the foot by the occupants of a dark coloured vehicle while at the Samana Drive party.
The second shooting occurred at Tobago Crescent early Sunday morning. The victim was at a party when the occupants of a white car drove up and shot him in the shoulder and back shortly after 1am.
In the first armed robbery, two men armed with a handgun robbed an East Street business shortly after noon Saturday. The gunmen escaped from the store just south of Palmetto Avenue with an undisclosed amount of cash and a cell phone. The men, who wore dark shades, fled on foot.
The second armed robbery occurred at a home in Jasmine Gardens shortly before 11pm Saturday. A woman was standing in front of her home when three men armed with a handgun stole her handbag and escaped on foot.
The third robbery took place less than an hour later when two women were robbed while walking on Bellot Road. The women were held up by two men armed with a handgun. The culprits escaped on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and a cellphone.
The fourth robbery took place early Sunday morning. Shortly after midnight, two men were robbed of their cash and cell phones by three men armed with a handgun at St Albans Drive.
The fifth robbery occurred at Rock Crusher shortly after 1am. A woman was robbed of her gold chain by three men in a dark coloured Honda Civic.
