The Bahamas Anglican Cursillo Movement paid a visit to the St. James Anglican Church, Adelaide for a special service last Sunday.
Fr Andrew Toppin was the priest in charge during the service. He welcomed the group and encouraged cursillistas to get involved in the movement’s activities. His sermon was taken from Matthew 5:13 where Jesus said, “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men.” Fr Toppin gave several examples of what salt is good for and why Christians need to be the salt of this earth to preserve that which is good, honest and Godly so that others can follow.
Herbert Scott, Lay Director for The Bahamas Anglican Cursillo Movement thanked Fr Toppin for welcoming the group.
He then encouraged persons who have not yet made a cursillo weekend to do so as a women’s weekend is scheduled for Labour Day weekend in June and a men’s weekend for the Heroe’s Day weekend in October.
The next event is a Servant Community Meeting at Christ The King, New Providence on March 8 at 3pm - 5pm.
