SCOTIABANK Bahamas hosted the Special Olympics Bahamas Team to a post-holiday party – a fun filled afternoon of activities and entertainment.
More than forty members of Team Scotia volunteered at the party, which was held on the beautiful grounds of the Bahamas National Trust.
They entertained members of the Special Olympics Team with face painting, karaoke and a variety of exciting games. The team was also served a scrumptious lunch and dessert.
A highlight of the afternoon was a surprise visit from the Ice Cream truck which tickled taste buds with the ice cream flavour of their choice.
The event culminated with another surprise, a guest appearance by Charlie the Yellow Bahamian.
At the conclusion of the event, each team member received a Scotiabank backpack filled with sports gear.
Nikolette Elden, Manager, Marketing Programmes at Scotiabank, said: “Giving back to our community is an integral part of the way we live, work and do business at Scotiabank. We were honoured and privileged to partner with the Special Olympics Team and demonstrate our commitment in a very tangible way, by spending time with this amazing group.”
Director of Special Olympics Bahamas, Basil Christie, said: “The consensus of the Board of Directors, coaches, family members and athletes was that, that it was ‘the best party ever.’ We were impressed with the amount of Scotiabank employees who attended. They did a phenomenal job in ensuring that everyone ate, drank and were merry.”
