PRIME Minister Perry Christie (centre) met with the Junior Achievement delegation led by JA Chairman Raymond Winder on Monday to commence the programmes’ JA Month activities.
This courtesy call is the first of several of the group that consisted of JA board members, public and private sector sponsors and JA New Providence’s Achievers Association executive board.
Mr Christie was presented with a proposal that if accepted would allow financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship (fundamentals taught through Junior Achievement’s extracurricular studies to become part of the in-school curriculum. JA Month will climax with the BahamaJac Business Conference for high school students where former Bahamian pro-basketball player, actor and businessman Rick Fox is expected as the featured speaker.
JA Bahamas was established in 1979 and currently has more than 3,000 participants nationwide.
