A 14-year-old boy who suffered a stabbing injury on Saturday night has died of his wounds.
A 19-year-old man, who sources say is a cousin of the boy, is helping police with their investigation.
The incident happened around 7pm at Golden Sun Drive.
Police say they received reports that male was stabbed at his home. When they arrived at the scene, they found the teenage boy suffering from a stab wound to the chest.
The victim was rushed to hospital by an ambulance, however, he died of his injuries on Sunday.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Anthony Ferguson said police have classified the death as a homicide until they complete their investigations.
“Homicide is just the general killing of a human being, it does not mean murder. If I, as an officer, kill someone, even if it is justified, it is still a homicide and then the investigation branches it off into murder, manslaughter, self defence or what have you,” he said.
“So at this point it is safe to say a homicide. We still have completed our investigations enough to make a determination on if we will charge someone or not. We heard they were playing around when the stabbing happened but we have nothing official. Hopefully in another day or so, we will be able to have an answer.”
Police are appealing to anyone who may have information on this matter to contact police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS.

According to reports the 19 year old was teaching the 14 year old how to stab someone. I wanna see the 19 year old in jail for at least 20 years if that is the case. Charge him with being fatally stupid or something but put his dumb ass in jail.....
