CHAMPIONSHIP SET
THE Technicians swept the Warriors in three straight sets at the DW Davis Gymnasium on Sunday to complete the best-of-five championship series that is slated to get started Wednesday night.
The Technicians booked their ticket to play against the defending champions Scotiabank Defenders.
In the decisive third and deciding game, the Technicians pulled off a 25-19, 25-23 and 27-25 decision over the Warriors. The Warriors were led by Prince Wilson and Victor Grant.

THE eighth annual Tim’s Refrigeration Doubles Tennis Tournament is scheduled to be held at the Knowles Tennis Court in Palmetto Point, Eleuthera, March 22-23.
Competition will be held in the ladies and men’s open doubles and the men’s 60 and over singles.
The sponsors for this year’s event are the CoCo Plum Resort and Tim’s Airconditioning & Refrigeration. Proceeds will be in aid of the Cancer Society of Eleuthera.

NEW YEAR LEAGUE
COMPETITION in the New Year League will continue tonight at the Village Squash Club. The league play is held four times per year and generally leads into the big contest such as the Club Championships.
Members who wish to play are divided into teams and matched against a player of their same skill level.
The competition is designed to get players who would not normally play each other to play, and thus play outside of their normal partners.
Leagues are played every Tuesday between February 11 and March 11 with the finals expected to be contested on March 14.
After the first week of competition last Tuesday, the standings are as follows:
Coke Crushers - 8; Brunswick Boasters - 12; Gerber Babies - 10; Chilly Willy - 10; Fidelity Dolls - 6; Gatorade - 14.
