Man convicted of having fake traffic inspector stickers

FREEPORT – A 21-year-old man who was arrested for possession of fake traffic inspector stickers and decals was convicted in Freeport Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Jonathan Pierre, of 25 Creswell Drive, appeared before magistrate Charlton Smith in court two, where he pleaded guilty to three counts of forgery and three counts of possession of a forged document.

On February 15, officers of the Mobile Division, acting on information, went to Columbus Drive and arrested Pierre. Officers discovered five fake Bahamas road traffic Inspector stickers and one Bahamas road traffic validation sticker and 22 Bahamas road traffic decals.

Pierre was fined $500 on each count, for a total of $3,000. Failing to pay the fine, he will serve six months at Her Majesty’s Prison.

Magistrate Smith also ordered that Pierre is to be of good behaviour for one year, and failure will result in an additional six months.
