Two held over murder in Exuma

POLICE have two men in custody in connection with the recent Exuma murder.

Superintendent Stephen Dean last night said police may bring formal charges against the pair for the shooting of a 23-year-old man in Rokers Point on February 18, this week.

Police arrested a man in connection with a stabbing incident at an East Street and Gibbs Corner night club shortly after 2am on Saturday.

According to reports, a woman was stabbed multiple times and a man was stabbed once to the arm after the victims got into an altercation with another man.

Police arrested the suspect, a 38-year-old resident of Thompson Lane, shortly after the incident.

Mobile Division officers on saturation patrol arrested eight people during a 24-hour period, according to reports on Sunday.

Police arrested a 29-year-old man from Minnie Street for threats of death; a 45-year-old man from Plantol Street for possession of a dangerous drug; and a 33-year-old man from Foxdale for housebreaking. Five people were arrested for outstanding court warrants.

On Friday, Northeastern Division officers arrested a 33-year-old man from Excellence Estates for threats of death; and a 57-year-old man from Minnie Street for stealing.

Meanwhile, police have issued an appeal to the public following an armed robbery at Bellot Road on Friday evening. According to reports, two women were sitting under a tree in front of their home shortly after 9pm when two men armed with a handgun robbed them of a cellphone.
