BAHAMIAN pilot Owen George Johnson, who is wanted for questioning in connection with an illegal landing incident at Sandy Point, Abaco, turned himself in to police yesterday.

Inspector Advardo Dames, said Johnson, 30, of New Providence, surrendered to authorities around 12:15pm at the Marsh Harbour Police Station.

It is alleged that on Sunday, February 23, Johnson piloted an aircraft, with five illegal immigrants onboard, and landed at the Sandy Point airport.

Police intercepted the aircraft on the runway as it landed. The five passengers were arrested, but the pilot escaped into nearby bushes.
