As part of Tropic Ocean Airways’ February 14 launch of its inaugural seaplane scheduled charter service toHope Town in Great Abaco, one couple will spend their Valentine’s Day weekend at the Abaco Inn on a complimentary three-night vacation package.
Tropic Ocean Airways, which re-started regular seaplane service to the Bahamas in 2011, is partnering with Fort Lauderdale-based IJet Charters to offer direct flights to Hope Town.
“Since our first flight is scheduled for Valentine’s Day we thought it would be timely to host one couple for a special weekend on us,” said Rob Ceravolo, co-owner and founder of Tropic Ocean Airways.
“They’ll christen the flight with champagne in Fort Lauderdale and arrive just an hour and 10 minutes later on the sandy beaches of Hope Town, much quicker than more traditional flights.”
Jim Swieter, founder of IJet Charters, said couples interested in entering can do so through IJet’s website through February 7 when the winners will be announced in a random drawing. The flights will be a round trip from Sheltair at Fort Lauderdale International (FLL).
Mr Swieter said the seaplane, which flies out of Sheltair at Fort Lauderdale International (FLL), streamlines US screening processes and custom checks, and can drop off guests directly on the beaches at Hope Town, eliminating the need for taxi and ferry transportation from Marsh Harbour airport.
