TWO men were arraigned yesterday in the Magistrates Court complex in connection with the more than $3 million cocaine and marijuana find over the weekend.

Marvin Bridgewater, 37, and Michael Calixte, 49, both of Freeport, Grand Bahama, appeared on January 12 before Magistrate Andrew Forbes accused of conspiring to possess dangerous cocaine with intent to supply it to another. Both men pleaded not guilty to the offence.

Bridgewater was charged separately with two counts of possession of dangerous drugs with intent to supply, allegedly committed on the same day.

Bridgewater also pleaded not guilty to these charges that claimed he possessed cocaine and marijuana with intent to supply.

On the day in question, officers searched a residence on Bayshore and Midshipman Road and found 247 pounds of what was suspected to be cocaine.

Further investigation resulted in 308 pounds of suspected marijuana being found at a residence in Fiddlers Green.

The two men were arrested as a result of those discoveries.

In court, the question of bail did not arise for Bridgewater or Calixte who were remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison until their April 9 trial.

Magistrate Forbes informed them of their right to apply for bail to the Supreme Court.
