FREEPORT - A 32-year-old Freeport man and a minor were arrested in connection with the discovery of a quantity of illegal drugs hidden in a drink bottle.
According to reports, at around noon yesterday, Drug Enforcement Unit officers were on patrol in the Adventurers’ Way area when they saw a black man sitting in a parked vehicle.
The occupant appeared to be acting in a suspicious manner, the officers said, so they identified themselves and conducted a search of the car and surrounding area.
The search turned up a Gatorade bottle containing 31 packages of marijuana.
As a result, the man and a 17-year-old boy were detained for questioning.

ABACO police cited nearly 50 drivers persons during Operation Clean Sweep on Wednesday.
The traffic officers attached to the Marsh Harbour Police Station were stationed along SC Bootle Highway between the hours 5.30am and 9am.
They cited 47 persons for various traffic violations.
Two others were arrested for suspected breach of the Immigration Act.
