THE quick response of Grand Bahama police officers resulted in the capture of three suspects following a daring daylight robbery.
At around 9am on Monday, officers were alerted about an incident on Kiplin Lane. A man getting into his car was reportedly attacked by another man who grabbed his knapsack containing a deposit bag full of cash.
The officers made it to the scene quickly and detained two men, and later a third, all of whom they want to question in connection with the incident.
Two of the men were out on bail in connection with unspecified charges, and fitted with electronic monitoring devices.
Police were also busy in New Providence, where a 27-year-old Fox Dale man was taken into custody for questioning in connection with an armed robbery on Sunday.
Just after 3.30pm, Eastern Division Officers, acting on a tip, detained the man on Prince Charles Drive.
They want to question him about an armed robbery that took place on January 7.
This suspect was also wearing an electronic monitoring bracelet.
The RBPF Flying Squad also made a series of arrests in the capital.
On Sunday, they detained two men in connection with an armed robbery and a shooting.
Around 3.30pm, officers arrested an 18-year-old Croton Road man in connection with the armed robbery of two businesses â one on Faith Avenue and the other on Carmichael Road.
An hour later, they detained a 17-year-old boy in connection with a shooting in Peardale in early January.
Also on Sunday, a 21-year-old man was detained in connection with the discovery of an unlicensed firearm.
Shortly after 10.30pm, officers from the Internal Security Division Kâ9 Unit were on patrol on Claridge Road, when they saw a man acting suspiciously.
A search turned up a handgun and a quantity of ammunition.
