Good weather and good fishing

FISHING is in the genes and the family in Abaco. Father and son Chris and Dylan Thompson are part of the Thompson family from Hope Town that goes back many generations. They took advantage of some great weather when they ventured out to spear some dinner this week.

Shannon Carnaham speared a yellow wing rock fish off Green Turtle Cay, Abaco, recently while young Jabez Mackey caught a prized yellow jack off Freeport, Grand Bahama, on Tuesday.

The major sport fishing tournaments have ended and the close of the mahi, tuna and wahoo season is looming. Over the summer the focus will be on spearing, diving, deep dropping and lion fish tournaments and the opening of crawfish season on August 1.
