AFTER the first three days of competition in the Caribbean Islands Swimming Championships, the Bahamas Swimming Federation’s 30-member team was sitting in fourth place with 367 points behind host Barbados, who had 383 for third place. Trinidad & Tobago was out front with 467 and Puerto Rico was second with 631. The 20th version is scheduled to wrap up today at the Aquatic Centre Wildey.
The Bahamas had collected a total of 26 medals, including two gold, two silver and four bronze on Saturday.
Here’s how the team performed on day three Saturday:
Gold medallists - Ariel Weech in 18-over 50 free in 26.16 and Albury Higgs in 13-14 100 breast in 1:15.48 for her third CISC record breaking performance.
Silver medallists - Samuel Gibson, boys 11-12 100 fly in 1:03.82 and Ariel Weech, 2nd in 18-over 50 back in 30.54.
Bronze medallists - Darren Laing, boys 11-12 100 fly in 1:05.77; Virginia Stamp, girls 11-12 50 back in 32.99; Samuel Gibson, 3rd in 11-12 200 free in 2:11.70 and Boys 15-17 800 free relay in 8:37.21 (Kohen Kerr. Drew Bastian, N’Nhyn Fernander and Gershwin Greene).
Other performances outside of a medal were:

On day two on Friday, the Bahamas picked up two more gold, four silver and a bronze.
Ariel Weech, the team captain, won the first gold medal of the night in the 18-over 100 back in 1:07.34 and Albury Higgs got another CISC record-breaking swim in the 13-14, breaking the old mark that stood for 18 years in the 200 breast with a swim of 2:42.74.

On the opening night on Thursday, the Bahamas has accumulated 12 medals, inclusive of 4 gold, 3 silver, 5 bronze for 124 points and second place overall.
Gold medallists - Laura Morley the 14-17 100 breast in 1:14.95; Alec Sands in the 13-14 1500 free in 17:05.22; Albury Higgs in the 13-14 200 IM in 2:26.07 breaking a CISC record held since 1984 and the 11-12 400IM boys relay with a near record breaking swim in 4:30.14 (Peter Morley, Izaak Bastian, Samuel Gibson and) T’LeZ Foulkes). The record is 4:30.01.
Silver medallists - Virginia Stamp, 11-12 100 back in 1:11.54; Lilly Higgs, 13-14 800 free in 9:42.09 and Drew Bastian in the 15-17 100 breast in 1:08.46.
Bronze medallists - Alexander Encinar in the 15-17 100 breast in 1:08.71; T’Lez Foulkes in the 50 free in 27.15;
