This year’s 4th Annual Fishermen’s Fest will be held in Spanish Wells this weekend.
The event will be held at the “Public Park” at the western tip of Spanish Wells, on Friday and Saturday.
The festival includes Bahamian food, games, baked goods and sweets, and live music, with community development at the heart of everything the committee has planned.
This year, the committee plans to offer $500 grants to all students who meet the committee’s requirements, and commit to pursuing tertiary education.
Friday’s festivities will begin at 6pm, with the sale of the finest in Bahamian dishes and beer from sponsor Kalik.
Live entertainment for the day will feature Ira Storr and D-Mac.
Saturday’s day-time activities will include raffle drawings, a fishing tournament and loads of other fun activities for persons of all ages.
The night time entertainment will feature Ancient Man and Funky D.
“Kalik is an instrumental cog in the machinery that makes the festival run,” said Lydia Burrows, committee member. Queswell Ferguson, BHG Management trainee added: “Kalik, as the beer of the Bahamas, is always delighted to sponsor events such as Fishermen’s Fest to ensure that they have all of the support they need to create an event that epitomises the vibrancy of the Bahamas and its people.”
