The Vacation Express/ Bahamasair Summer Flight programme has added two cities, with flights from Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee, starting on August 11 and September 5, respectively.
The programme is designed to increase the average length of stay for Grand Bahama visitors, with its rolling four (four nights with departures on the fifth day) flight schedule.
Visitor spend on tour excursions, dining experiences and shopping aids the Ministry of Tourism’s goal of achieving the widest possible distribution of the economic benefits.
A team of representatives including Carmel Churchill, director for marketing services, Grand Bahama Island Tourism Board; Jeannie Gibson, communications manager, Bahamas Tourism Office (BTO); Antoinette Neely, district manager BTO, and Brooke Sherman, cmmunications senior executive, BTO; set off on a week-long media and sales campaign through Memphis and Nashville between July 22nd-26t.
The team paid courtesy calls on Mayors A C Wharton, Jr, for Memphis, and Karl F. Deal for Nashville, in addition to meetings with local TV, radio and communications agencies to promote the new direct service to Grand Bahama.
