Calvary Deliverance hosts 'Holy Ghost Revival Services'

SENIOR Pastor James Newry and Queenie Newry, along with the family of Calvary Deliverance Church will host a three-night “Holy Ghost Revival Service” June 23-25 at the sanctuary on East Street South. Services take place at 7pm nightly.

“Revival is a time of refreshing and renewal. It comes from forceful preaching that deeply moved the church members with a convicting awareness of personal guilt and the awesome nature of salvation through Christ. Breaking away from everyday ritual and rote ceremony, revival makes Christianity intensely personal to the average person by creating a deep emotional need for relationship with Christ,” the church said in a press statement.

“We need revival because it reinforces the believer’s understanding when he or she accepts Jesus as Lord and Saviour. It sets us afire by a prompting of the Holy Spirit, creating an awareness of something missing or wrong in our lives that can only be righted by God. Believers therefore must respond from the heart, acknowledging his or her need. Then, in a powerful way, the Holy Spirit will draw back the veil the world has cast over the truth, allowing the believers to fully see themselves in comparison to God’s majesty and holiness. The results of an effective revival are greater awe of God and His truly amazing grace and awesome spiritual experience that represents a restoration of fellowship with God,

Speakers include Sister Marie Evans, Sister Carlene Hanna and Brother Dwayne Mortimer. The Calvary Deliverance Church Praise Team will lead the congregation in praise and worship. For more information call 356-4094 or 323-3135.
