Constant dribble

EDITOR, The Tribune.

Praise - even extreme praise - is appropriate when earned but this constant dribble from certain government officials is now beyond the norm and accepted level.

Possibly accidentally I switched to Channel 40 today and caught the end of the Senate session and I had to pinch myself that I was actually living in The Bahamas because what I heard was not the “real” Bahamas.

The highest murder rate per capita in the world or at least the Caribbean. The longest waiting time for Capital cases to be heard in the Supreme Court.

A governance system that thrives on secrecy in 2014 disallowing the constitutional right of Freedom of Speech and Information.

A governance system unable to collect even the easiest form of tax.

The majority of our nation’s flags flying today do not have the right turquoise blue.
Editor: how can an educated person even think that The Bahamas is the best little country in the world with those sins I have listed above?

Hypocrisy to the extreme and worse it is teaching our young people they really don’t have to struggle everything is okay ...... don’t worry! Be happy!

The Rhodes Scholar rubbish as if the award has only been around for the past ten years – surely the Ministers can Google and check facts and only say the truth rather than talking sheer rubbish. Yes, we are very proud of the three-four recent awardees but never lay claim to something which is absolutely untrue.

We have things which have literally just been thought about which in the eyes of Ministers are already World Famous and Internationally known. We had better stop this rubbish – one satisfaction no one is listening – thank God.
