A 16-year-old boy is in police custody accused of stabbing two Anatol Rodgers students during a brawl outside the school campus on Tuesday afternoon.
The victims, a boy and a girl both 15, were taken to hospital by ambulance where they were listed in stable condition.
According to reports, police were alerted to a fight on Faith Avenue South.
When they arrived, they found two teenagers suffering from multiple stab wounds.
The Tribune understands the girl was stabbed in her head and sliced across the face and the boy was stabbed in the back.
A juvenile male was taken into custody.
Assistant Superintendent Matthew Edgecombe, attached to the Carmichael Road police station, said police do not know the motive for the stabbing, but do not think it was gang related.
A relative of the girl, who wanted to remain anonymous, hinted that the fight broke out between Haitians and Bahamians at the school.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS.
