TWO businesses on Pioneers Way were reportedly robbed at gunpoint on Monday, police said yesterday.

The first incident happened around 3.20pm, when two men armed with a handgun robbed a local business on East Pioneers Way of an undetermined amount of cash.

One of the culprits was wearing a baseball cap. He is described as being about 5ft 11in, slim, with dark complexion and weighing 150lbs. The second man was described as being about 5ft 6in of medium build, dark complexion and low haircut.

Police were later called out to a second armed robbery incident on Pioneers Way. Reports are that sometime around 5pm, two men - one armed with a handgun - robbed a business establishment.

The gunman was wearing a grey singlet. He is described as being about 5ft 7in, slim, with light brown complexion and braided hair. The second man was wearing a black t-shirt with a Nike ‘Just Do It’ logo on it. He is about 5ft 8in tall of medium build and dark complexion.

Inspector Terecita Pinder said police are actively investigating both matters. She is urging the public or anyone with information that can assist the police to 350-3107/8, 911/919 or the nearest police station.

FREEPORT getting worse than Nassau. Is it because of the increase in the poverty and misery level due to high unemployment?
