Whether or not there could be amendments to the current Lotteries and Gaming Act I hope government will not give webshops a further concession and tax them on profits?
The existing Act, Article: 16 (iii) will pay 15 per cent of gross receipts. These fellas say they do $925,000 a day so that’s $138,750 per day, every day going direct into the Treasury.
If you tax them on profits, the owners will scam more than they have over the past 50-60 years operating illegally... they will create high overheads – big executive salaries for the bosses and who is supposed to receive will get nothing.
If that $925,000 is right, how much winnings did the houses payout? Now that would be interesting – please Minister Wilchcombe tell us cos’ I suspect we really been had for a long time.
Well, it seems Minister of Education dun spent the first $50 m coming in year one!
You see when these politicians see Blue Marlins their hands get itchy that’s why deficits have to be controlled.
