A JUDGE issued a warrant of apprehension yesterday for a man on $28,000 who failed to show up for a court appearance.
Senior Justice Jon Isaacs made the order for Keno Johnson to be apprehended when Vinette Graham-Allen, director of public prosecutions, made an application to the judge to have his bail revoked and for a warrant of arrest to be issued for his failure to appear in Supreme Court in February.
Johnson, who was granted bail last November before his murder trial in 2015, is accused of the November 28, 2012 murder of Khylilee Wallace, whose body was found in bushes off Marshall Road, 11 days after his family reported him missing.
DPP Graham-Allan noted that before being granted bail in this case, Johnson had allegedly breached bail conditions for a housebreaking charge he also faced.
She said the accused man had fundamentally not complied with the court’s order to return to court for all appearances and as a result, his bail should be revoked and a warrant issued for his arrest.
The judge noted that notwithstanding her valid arguments, he would issue a warrant of apprehension for Johnson instead.
