FOUR Americans were arrested in separate incidents of marijuana and firearm possession over the weekend.
The first arrest took place around noon Saturday when a 21-year-old Florida man was found in possession of an undisclosed quantity of marijuana at Cabbage Beach. The man was said to be a Hialeah resident, according to police.
The second arrest took place on board a private boat moored at Prince George Dock sometime after 2pm the same day.
According to police, a 21-year-old man from North Charleston, South Carolina was found in possession of an undisclosed quantity of marijuana.
On Sunday, police arrested two Florida men, aged 43 and 57, after two undeclared rifles were found on board a private boat moored at East Bay Street.
Police conducted the search sometime after 2am, and the men were arrested after it was discovered that the suspects did not declare the firearms upon entering the country.
The men were said to be residents of Destin, Florida, according to police.
Investigations are continuing.
In other crime matters, DEU officers arrested a 37-year-old man after he was found in possession of 100 rounds of ammunition over the weekend.
Drug Enforcement Unit officers found the ammunition after they searched a Toyota Corrolla at Homestead Street.
According to police, the man is expected to be formally charged this week.

"Undisclosed quantity of marijuana"? So essentially a personal supply. Is this really the best use of our police and court resources? Going after some tourists for smoking a joint when there are dozens of unsolved murders on the books?
