PLP Chairman Bradley Roberts has questioned how the DNA could believe that its “rinky dink outfit” and its “photoshopped” leader was prepared enough to be voted into office as the next government of the Bahamas.
Mr Roberts said that the DNA continues to perpetrate this “massive identity fraud” on social media every day and it seems to have fallen in love with “its own posts, tweets and Instagrams”.
“The DNA should spend all of its available time on a framework or formula which will make their organisation more palatable to the Bahamian people rather than trying to demonise the PLP, the PLP government or for that matter other political organisations in the country.
“What the self-appointed leaders of the DNA continue to miss is that they hold the singular distinction in the entire Caribbean region of having fielded candidates for more than 80 per cent of the available seats in a general election and having failed to win any.
“No political party in the history of the Bahamas since the formation of political parties in 1953 have acquired the unique record of failure of the DNA – if only they can get their bloated political ego to transfer into a seat in the House of Assembly so they can be taken seriously.
“This sobering reality should always shake up and wake up the pretentious triad of (Leader Branville) McCartney, (Deputy Leader Chris) Mortimer and (party chairman Andrew) Wilson.”
Mr Roberts said the DNA should, instead of trying to spin the record with an assessment of the PLP or the PLP government’s performance in office, consider informing the nation on whether or not the DNA is a “breeding nest of failed, spoiled and fringe politicians”.
“Does the DNA feel that the intelligent voters of the Bahamas will risk the future of their country with a political organisation which to date is yet to open its books, its constitution, its public policy or ideology for in-depth scrutiny and evaluation?
“Does the DNA think the Bahamian people are not aware that the organisation was created after Mr McCartney, then the Junior Minister of Immigration in the FNM government, made a complete fool of himself by issuing and challenging the substantive position of his senior Minister and then Deputy Prime Minister Brent Symonette?
“Is this the type of leadership the Bahamian people want to exalt and encourage in this country? We don’t think so.”
Mr Roberts added that while the “mainstream media” continues to use statements from the DNA the public is still waiting to see Mr McCartney mature to the point where he accepts he was wrong in his conduct towards Mr Symonette and it is still not too late for him to apologise.
“For in that apology Mr McCartney will also discover that he will be forgiven for not grasping the fundamentals of the Westminster political system which this country has tenured for over 250 years.
“It may very well be that in this sincere and absolute apology, Mr McCartney and his triad may find themselves creditworthy, morally upright and qualified to offer political advice and critique before the organisation can be sanitised through a history of democratic struggle and personal sacrifice,” Mr Roberts said.

Will someone please make Bradley Roberts STFU!
Bahamians are sick and tired of the PLP & FNM which explains why neither can stay in office more than one term.
Agreed we don't need Branville because he seems as wacky as the PLP & FNM, but we also don't need the PLP & FNM.
