A Bahamian company has announced it will work with a Chinese travel agency to boost luxury visitors, and will support the latter’s newly-launched initiative linking Key West and this nation.
Bahamaren said its tie-up with HH Travel would result in it developing a new initiative called ‘Luxury Bahamas’, which will focus directly on luxury travellers.
The Bahamian group said this nation was being outperformed by Mexico, Cuba, and Argentina in attracting Chinese tourists because they did not know what this nation had to offer.
It added that Atlantis was the leading choice in the Bahamas among wealthy Chinese because of its strong brand affiliation due to its sister property in Dubai.
Bahamaren said that together with HH Travel it was looking to raise the profile of this nation’s high-end resorts and tourism experiences.
It added: “ Our focus is redefining the Bahamas tourism image to effectively target the high-end market. The tourism strategy, which targets China’s three major cities — Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou - will expand to the growing middle and upper class cities of Chongqing, Hangzhou, and Nanjing.
“Our company will begin marketing and promoting the Bahamas tourism product on Chinese social media such to introduce an aggressive social media platform. Bahamaren will continue to evolve its tourism strategy for China to ensure the Bahamas remain competitive.”
