Crown land transactions

EDITOR, The Tribune.

I refer to your front page story on the 29th day of April in connection with the secrecy of Crown Land transactions.

In 1972, when I was elected to the House of Assembly a statement was tabled every three months of all Crown Lands transactions for members and the public to see. Obviously, this ceased at some point down the road. I do not know if this was a legal requirement or if it was just something that the government of the day did at that time and prior to 1972.

Someone should research to find out if this is in fact a part of the law and a legal requirement. If so, all the years of non-disclosure should be updated so everyone can see what has transpired. If not, then it should become a requirement.
