A FOOTBALL legend is looking to attract football fans to the Bahamas thanks to a relationship between National Football League (NFL) team, the Miami Dolphins and the Ministry of Tourism.
Hall of Fame quarterback and former Dolphin player Dan Marino is personally inviting Dolphins fans to join him and several other football legends for a fun-filled weekend in the Bahamas this spring.
In a 30-second video on the Miami Dolphins website Fan Zone page, the NFL record holder is personally promoting the special package - Dan Marino and his Legendary Friends Weekend in the Bahamas.
Marino is asking Dolphins fans to take “a legendary weekend” getaway with him and 10 of his friends and former teammates.
The exclusive package includes round-trip airfare from Miami or Ft. Lauderdale, hotel accommodations at the Atlantis resort, a round of golf with the football legends and a sunset cruise hosted by Marino.
The event stems from a contractual partnership between the Ministry of Tourism and the NFL team.
Over the past few months, the Sports Tourism department has been aggressively promoting The Bahamas as the premier sports tourism destination.
The Bahamas recently aligned itself with major athletic brands to increase exposure of the country’s 16 major islands and boost the sports tourism product.
The Bahamas also signed contractual agreements with National Basketball Association (NBA) team the Miami Heat and National Hockey League (NHL) team, the Florida Panthers.
The first International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Relays will make its debut in Nassau this May. The Sports Tourism department is also working on bringing major football bowl games to the country’s shores in 2014.
