Teenagers in hospital after hit-and-run

FREEPORT – Three male teenagers are in hospital following a hit-and-run accident on East Sunrise Highway over the weekend. The victims are aged 18 and 19 years. One of them is listed in serious condition and the other two are stable at Rand Memorial Hospital.

The accident happened around 1am on Saturday at East Sunrise Highway. According to police reports, four male pedestrians were walking east along the highway when the driver of a silver-coloured Chevy Cobalt, registration number unknown, collided with them.

One teen, who is a resident of New Providence, was not injured. The three teens that were injured were taken to hospital for treatment. Inspector Terecita Pinder, press liaison officer, said police are investigating the incident.

Anyone with information that can assist the police is asked to call the Police Traffic Division at 352-6626, 350-3153, 919/911 or the nearest police station.
