EDITOR, The Tribune.
I see that a group of PLP female members of the Senate and the House of Assembly held a press conference to join in the call to release the kidnapped schoolgirls in Nigeria. It was good for them to do so.
Still, I can’t help but feel that they are hypocrites. Why didn’t they condemn Leslie Miller when he talked about beating up a woman? They all kept silent when he made his disgusting remarks. So much for their concern about protecting women.
They are a in a party that has postponed for a third time the constitutional referendum in favour of making women fully equal to men. No date has been set for the referendum. I don’t recall them talking about this issue.
It’s good for them to be concerned about those foreign girls. But maybe they should show that same concern for our Bahamian girls and women and stop being hypocrites. It’s easy to hold up signs. But it takes courage to do the right thing at home.

Very good point................ Bahamian women have been hoodwinked by male politicians (just like their social/family/sexual partners for the most part). We need an alternative party headed by strong women..................... they will be an effective Second or Third Force.
STOP BEING USED BY TRIFLING MEN IN BOTH ............................. ALL PARTIES
