A FILLIPINO man faces up to two years imprisonment as he and a woman accomplice are accused of planning to defame his ex-girlfriend by posting several nude images of her on Facebook.
Angelo Cayetano, 34, and April Cayetano, 28, both of Mt Pleasant Village, will stand trial on July 3 on a single charge of intentional libel alleged to have been committed between December 1, 2012 and May 4, 2014.
It is claimed that they unlawfully published defamatory pictures of a woman who they knew, intending to defame her.
In the pictures that have been removed from the social media site, the complainant, whose identity is being withheld for her protection, is shown posing naked in a number of positions.
Both accused pleaded not guilty to the charge when arraigned before Magistrate Samuel McKinney of court no. 1 on Monday.
They were each granted $7,500 bail after it was shown that the two had work permits and were in the Bahamas legally.
They have retained Tai Pinder to defend them against the charge while Sgt Audrey Deveaux is prosecuting the case.
Six witnesses, including the complainant, are expected to testify in the case.
