Lame comments attributed by the press to DPM Philip Brave Davis in his defense of parliamentarian pay raises.
“More pay would remove the temptation for politicians to do things that are not right, because if they (MPs) are earning a living by doing this (raising their pay), then there would be no need for them to do anything else.”
Is this a tacit admission that we politicians are or have been ’tiefin because they’re underpaid?
NAH! But probably the reason they don’t have to do anything else to earn a living.
Mr Davis commented further, “The feeling of our public is probably more rooted in their scepticism about us as politicians and their mistrust of all of us as politicians.”
Is the public sceptical and mistrusting of all of you as politicians? You bet!
