Clarity builds your confidence

By Michelle M Miller

Being clear produces confidence and motivation to move forward by taking focused action. Clarity, in many respects, is often left off the table as a valuable ingredient in building confidence, yet without clarity, confidence – if it is developed at all – eventually becomes frail and weakens.

Imagine trying to do something confidently without being clear as to what you need to do or how you are to do it. In this regard, how can you act with confidence?

For this reason clarity is the precursor to building your confidence. The goal here is to develop the habit of seeking more clarity as a means of increasing your confidence, power and sense of control.

This is particularly true when it comes to clarity about who you are, where you are going and your life purpose. Having clarity is also about understanding.

“Seek first to understand, then to be understood” is the fifth habit in Stephen Covey’s “Seven Habits of Highly Effective People”. The operative word here is “effective”.

Perhaps you are experiencing a lack of personal progress and desire to move your life to the next level. To be effective, you must focus on being clearer about the whys and wherefores.  Otherwise, you continue in the fog of frustration, which hinders your capacity to move in any set direction.

Being clear about where you now is important to you getting where you desire to go. Clarity is not a small thing. It directly affects the way you think, speak and actions you take.

Are you clear about what you need to make your life work?

For the most part, people are unclear. They tend to live being overwhelmed and under informed. Many don’t even see clarity as something worth moving towards. As such, they experience life as an ongoing hamster wheel of chaos and confusion.

Clarity is about mental alertness. It speaks to your thinking skills. Effective thinking produces effective results. You see, you are born to win. The question is do you believe this and are clear about how you are winning in your life?

Too often people get stuck in the habit of blaming and complaining.

When in truth, life does not discriminate. We are each equally adored and evenly experience the many gifts of difficulties.

Recognise that these seeming obstacles are really opportunities in disguise.

They are designed to challenge your scope of clarity; pushing you to embrace the courage to change.

As a result, when the contrary winds of change beats at your door, rather than getting frustrated at the wind, you instead seek ways to gain the clarity and confidence to face the winds of change.

Moreover, being clear is also about organising your mind. An unorganised mind produces an unorganised life. When you get your mind ‘right’, you are better able to get your life ‘right’.

Indeed, if you truly desire to experience a more enriching life, then it is time to get clear. Clarity builds confidence and confidence builds competence.

Leader to leader, make today the day that you move through your life with a stronger sense of clarity.

To see clearly now is a surefire way to live the life that you love.
