Police remove the body from the scene.
A man celebrating his 54th birthday was shot and killed early this morning as he attempted to enter a corner store through Lightbourn Avenue, just off Farrington Road.
According to police, the man walked in on an attempted armed robbery when the gunman saw him and shot him in the chest.
The victim then ran from the scene before collapsing at the back of the building where he died.
His killer fled the scene on foot by running through a nearby yard.
