GRAND Bahama recorded its eighth murder for the year late Sunday evening when a 34-year-old man was gunned down near the Red Carpet Sports Bar on East Atlantic Drive in Freeport. Charles Miller, also known as “Yellow”, of Epsom Road, Mayfield Park Subdivision, was rushed to hospital, where he later died.

According to police reports, the shooting occurred sometime after 11pm.

Police received a call just before midnight that a man had been shot in the Gwen’s Plaza. When officers arrived they discovered the body of a man lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to the body.

Witness reports indicate that Miller was at the Red Carpet Sports Bar. Sometime after 11pm he went outside and walked to the area of Paradise Games. A short time later gunshots were heard. It is believed that Miller was wearing an ankle-monitoring bracelet at the time.

He was taken by EMS personnel to the Rand Memorial Hospital, where he later died of his injuries. No arrest has been made and police are continuing their investigations.
