WITH numerous social ills impacting women in the Bahamas every day, Mattie Nottage Ministries International is presenting its ‘Women of Power’ conference to uplift and set people free.
Under the theme, “Awakening The Warrior In You”, the annual conference will be held at the Believers Faith Outreach ministries, starting tonight at 7.30pm. It ends on Sunday, June 1.
Monique Roker, senior administrator at Mattie Nottage Ministries International, said they felt a need to reach out to people given the issues they see women face on a daily basis.
“We find that many women are facing so much, and they are suppressed by the cares of life. Many of them are in such a great fight for their lives because they battle their emotions, finances, and they lack a strong support in the home. They have a lot of untapped potential that is trapped. During the conference we want to pull back the dry scales and the burdens they carry with them. We want to help enlighten them and help them become the full potential of who they really are,” she said.
Dr Mattie Nottage will be a speaker throughout the women’s conference.
She said: “Far too often women have been overlooked and left as victims of their circumstances. Many women have endured being abused, rejected and underestimated in their role as a vital part of the overall development of our society. I believe that more than ever before God is raising up powerful women who are armed with the spiritual tools necessary to defeat the kingdom of darkness. To every woman, I further believe that this is the hour for the celebration of who you are regardless of what you may have gone through. It is time to ‘awaken the warrior in you’,” she said.
Ms Roker said she believes people who attend the conference will be transformed and be given direction through God where their personal lives are concerned.
“We have documented testimonies of women who have come into various forms of deliverance. In the past people left the conference feeling much better and feeling like a weight has been lifted,” Ms Roker told Tribune Religion. Dr Nottage will also release her new book, “Secrets Every Mother Should Tell Her Daughter About Life”, during the conference.
In the past, Dr Nottage has produced and directed numerous stage plays, including “Last Chance Transformation Academy”, “You Have A Choice In The Matter”, “Talitha Cumi - Damsel Arise!”, “Christmas In Da’ Ghetto”, “Dealing With Delilah”, “Fragile Heart”, and “Chain Breakers” among others.
Dr Nottage is a well-known international preacher, teacher, motivational speaker, life coach, playwright, author and revivalist. She is the president and founder of Mattie Nottage Ministries International, the Mattie Nottage School of Ministry, the Youth In Action Group and the Global Dominion Network Empowering Group of Companies.
