A SUPREME Court Justice is expected to give his ruling this morning on whether or not to lift an injunction on dredging activities in North Bimini.
For the past four days attorneys for the Bimini Blue Coalition (BBC) and Resorts World Bimini have presented their case in this regard in the Grand Bahama courtroom of Senior Justice Hartman Longley.
Dredging activities were halted last week Friday after the London-based Privy Council granted the BBC’s injunction request, noting that the developer must prove the validity of a permit it recently obtained under the Conservation and Protection of the Physical Landscape of the Bahamas Act before dredging activities could continue.
While the BBC argued this week that not all conditions stipulated in the Act have been complied with, the developer provided documents which it claimed proves the permit’s validity.
In an affidavit filed on Saturday, the developer noted that it costs $168,000 per day for the dredger to sit idle.
