WITH the break in the high winds over the past week, anglers have been making the most of the opportunity to hit some of their favourite fishing spots and been rewarded with fine Wahoo.
San Salvador seems to be the place for large wahoo at the moment. The Bahamas Sport Fishing Network (BSFN) had been receiving reports all week from Captain Arnaud catching Wahoo between 90 and 108lbs, the biggest near White Cay.
This is good news for the islands of Eleuthera, New Providence, Abaco and Exuma as the wahoo will migrate north.
On a day trip from Nassau Craig Eldon went deep dropping to find the Red Snapper in 800ft of water near Andros. In Abaco BSFN junior expert Kai Survance caught a 36lb Wahoo near Hope Town while and Bronson Russell reeled in a good specimen near Schooner Bay.
