THE Progressive Liberal Party’s disciplinary committee appointed to decide on the fate of embattled Fort Charlotte MP Dr Andre Rollins is expected to make its formal recommendation to the leadership council by the end of this month, party chairman Bradley Roberts said yesterday.
Mr Roberts previously told The Tribune that the committee was expected to submit its report tomorrow at the PLP’s general council meeting.
He gave the update during a speech at a PLP prayer breakfast at the Meliá Nassau Beach Resort in Cable Beach while announcing plans for the party to hold a mini convention in Exuma.
That event is planned for November 29.
Forty new stalwart councillors are expected to be officially inducted in a ceremony immediately following the convention.
The PLP national convention was deferred until 2015 from this year so that there could be focus on the four Constitutional Amendment Bills currently before Parliament.
The final hearing into the former Gaming Board Chairman’s behaviour was held on October 30.
Dr Rollins faces a possible two-year suspension from the party. He could also be denied a nomination in the 2017 general election or be reprimanded by the PLP’s National General Council based on the committee’s report.
His future in the party hangs in the balance after he repeatedly publicly criticised Prime Minister Perry Christie and his administration this summer.
He has refused to apologise for his statements.
