New and existing entrepreneurs and business owners participated in the Entrepreneur Empowerment Workshop, hosted by Mark A. Turnquest and The Small Business Resource Centre, on November 8.
The three main goals of the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) workshop were to provide information on how to start, manage and grow a business in an effective and efficient manner; enlighten new entrepreneurs and existing SME owners on how to successfully prepare and execute business plans; and provide a national report on the importance of the SME Act, SME Development Agency (SMEDA) and Value-Added Tax (VAT).
Business presenters at the event included: Simon Wilson, deputy financial secretary at the Ministry of Finance; Lateisha Black, supervisor at the National Workers Co-operative Credit Union; Terence Bethel, president of Professional Certification Bahamas; Wayne Johnson, President of Wayne Johnson International; Anna Wilson-Smith, financial services executive agent at Family Guardian Insurance; and Sean Brennen; fund administrator at the Bahamas Entrepreneurial Venture Fund.
Kareem Hanchell, president of SDC Bahamas, was the Master of Ceremonies at the business workshop.
Mr Turnquest explained all sections of the business planning and execution process through a new and innovative business training/development model entitled ‘8 M’s of Entrepreneurial Success’.
This type of business workshop can be presented at any location in New Providence and other Family Islands. For more information log on to www.markturnquestconsulting.com.
