POLICE are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in the Sea Breeze canal yesterday.
Chief Police Superintendent Clayton Fernander said local residents saw the man and reported it to the police. There was no evidence of trauma and police are not treating the incident as a homicide.
Mr Fernander said they are treating it like a sudden death situation. “We await the results of the autopsy,” he said, adding that police are now seeking to identify the man by appealing to families missing a relative, asking them to come forward.
The man is described as being of dark complexion in his late 40s. If no one comes forward to identify the man, police will try to identify him by taking his fingerprints, Mr Fernander said.
