TWO men were remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison yesterday after being arraigned in connection with the August murder of a man previously sought by police for armed robbery.
Elandro Missick, 23, of Kingston Street, and Mario Brown, 24, of Wilson Tract, appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney in connection with the August 21 shooting death of George “Baboo” Nixon in the Lyon Road area off Shirley Street. They each face a charge of murder and conspiracy to murder in connection with the incident.
On the night in question, police say they received a call that shots were heard in the Lyon Road area around 10pm. When they arrived they found the lifeless body of a young man lying on the ground. Nixon was reportedly standing in the street when he was approached by two men armed with handguns.
He attempted to run, but was cornered at the rear of a local business where he was shot several times.
He died at the scene and the men escaped on foot. Police had issued a wanted bulletin in May for Nixon, who was being sought in connection with an armed robbery.
Neither man was required to enter a plea as the matter has been forwarded to the Supreme Court for the presentation of a Voluntary Bill of Indictment. They were represented by Roger Gomez Jr.
