Marking a nine-month milestone in his first year as Cable & Wireless Communications (CWC) chief executive, Phil Bentley is leading a ‘getting to know you’ Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC) ‘Team Talk Live’ visit that will bring him in touch with employees nationwide.
His first stop was Grand Bahama, where he updated the media on BTC’s recent improvements and expansions, and gave an insight into what customers can look forward to through 2015.
He reported that dropped calls had reduced in frequency, and that the Bahamas enjoys some of the fastest speeds in the region thanks to the availability of BTC’s mobile LTE network.
Some $65 million will be invested in BTC by CWC through year-end for improvements and expansions of network and product services, including fixed mobile conversion.
IPTV will launch in 11 markets across the region, along with B2B commercial customer solutions.
Mr Bentley said consumers will have better price value once they are able to have BTC high speed Internet, fixed line and mobile phone service, and Internet television in one package.
The CWC chief and his senior management team were in Nassau for employee team talks on Friday, October 17.
