BFA ELECTIONS

ANTON Sealey has been returned as the president of the Bahamas Football Association. Sealey was voted in during the elections held during the BFA’s congress on October 19. In addition to Sealey, the member clubs voted on all open positions on the executive committee.

They are as follows:

Executive Vice President: Anya James, first female in history of the BFA to be elected to the executive committee

Vice President: Bruce LaFleur, returned

Vice President: Stanley Darville, returned

Vice President: Kevin Davies, first term in office

Vice President: Jason McDowall, first term in office

Vice President, Antoine Dias, first term in office

CITY BOWLING LEAGUE

THE top players in City Bowling League competition last night was Lee Davis of the Ten Back Strikers, who toppled the pins for a solid 640 three game high set. Runner-up MVP was Sammie Symonette of the Discoverers with a 614 second high set. Dave Mackey of the Ten Back Strikers crushed the pins for the high game of 244 while Kevin B Williams of the Knights downed the pins for another huge game of 235.

The ladies’ MVP of the evening was Xynea Johnson of the Bahamasair Flyers with a 199 second high game and an outstanding 579 three game set. Johnson was followed by Janice Hoyte of the Ten Back Strikers with a 204 high game and a respectable 539 second high set.

AMATEUR BOXING

SHOW

CHAMPION Amateur Boxing Club is scheduled to hold “The Champ is here” amateur boxing show 7pm October 25 at the Wulff Road Boxing Square. The event will be held in honour of Ernie ‘the Androsian’ Barr. The featured match on tap will be Don Rolle vs Lorenzo Fertil.

Other matches on tap are:

Emmanuel Rolle vs Michael Roberts; Terry Rolle vs Michael Gomez; Rodneko Mackey vs Wildmond Philippe; Shaton Jan vs LaShawn McKinney; Lamont McPhee vs Bruce Hepburn and Reggie Danlag vs Habaughn Armbrister.

All amateur boxers and boxing clubs are welcome to participate.

NPOTSA ACTION

THE New Providence Oldtimers Softball Association continued its regular season action over the weekend at the Archdeacon William Thompson Softball Park at the Southern Recreation Grounds.

The following results were posted:

Proper Care Sharks 8, Hardy XO 6

The winning pitcher was Foster Dorsett and the loser was Hector Rolle. With the win, Proper Care advanced to championship. Spurgeon Johnson had 3 hits with 2 runs in the win.

Home Boys 20, Dozer Pros 10

The winning pitcher was Sidney Thomas and the loser was Alfred Munnings.

Home Boys 12, Dozer Pros 2

The winning pitcher was Sidney Thomas and the loser was Roberto Goodman. With the win, the Home Boys advance to championship.

Da Boyz 13, Sigma Crusaders 12

The winning pitcher was Alvin Lightbourne and the loser was Anthony Rolle.

Da Boyz 17, Sigma Crusaders 10

The winning pitcher was Alvin Lightbourne and the loser was Anthony Rolle. With the win, Da Boyz advance to championship.
