Bulldogs advance to championship series

THE Fidelity Bulldogs clobbered Scotiabank 22-8 to advance to the Banker’s Softball League championship series. On Saturday in the Banker’s Field at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex, the other half of the chmpionship will be decided between the CIBC/FCIB and BAF.

Fildelity 22, Scotia Bank 8

David Gardiner went 2-for-4 with two homers, five RBI and two runs scored, Chavez Thompson was 4-for-4 with a double and triple, three RBI and four runs scored, Alec Rolle was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a homer, three RBI and three runs scored and Simeon Dean 4-for-4 with a homer, two RBI and two runs scored in the win. Chavez Thompson was the winning pitcher and Shane Albury was tagged with the loss.

CIBC/FCIB 7, BAF 6

Daniel Cash went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored, while Moses Johnson was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored and Angelo Butler 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored to lead the winners. Johnson was the winning pitcher and Lyrone Burrows was the loser. Richard Bastian was 2-for-2 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored and Selvin Johnson 2-for-3 with a RBI in a losing effort.

BAF 9, CIBC/FCIB 6

Jayson Clarke was 3-for-3 with a double, a RBI and two runs scored, Renaldo Knowles was 2-for-3 with a homer, two RBI and two runs, Marvin Wood 1-for-3 with a triple, two RBI and a run scored and Corey Jones 1-for-2 with two runs scored for the winners. Burton Saunders got the win over Moses Johnson. Johnson led the losers with a 2-for-3 day with a run scored, John Carter was 1-for-3 with a double and a RBI and Anton Rolle 1-for-1 with a run scored.
