THE Progressive Liberal Party disciplinary committee established to decide the fate of controversial Fort Charlotte MP Andre Rollins last night concluded their hearings and will begin deliberating.
Stalwart PLP councillor Valentine Grimes, who heads the committee, last night confirmed that they will wrap up their deliberations by the end of next week. When they conclude, a recommendation will be put forward regarding what should happen to the ex-Gaming Board Chairman.
“There will be further deliberations and we will be done by the end of next week,” Mr Grimes told The Tribune moments after the committee sat with Dr Rollins. Mr Grimes declined further comment on the details of the hearing.
As reported previously by The Tribune, Dr Rollins faces a two-year suspension from the party. He can also be refused a nomination in the 2017 general election or be reprimanded by the PLP’s National General Council based on a report from the disciplinary committee.
The committee was formed recently to determine the political fate of the former Gaming Board chairman after he refused to apologise for several scathing rebukes of the Christie administration and Prime Minister Perry Christie that he made in the House of Assembly.
