GRAND Bahama native Glennett McKinney’s life began spiralling out of control when her marriage ended abruptly. She became a single mother over night and later discovered she had cancer.

It seemed that everything that could go wrong, was going wrong, and that it would take a long time to get her life back on track.

It was only after immersing herself in the love of God and recommitting her life to Christ, Glennett said, that she began to see the sun shining behind the dark clouds.

In an effort to put her life back together, Glennett was spurred on by the advice of Tony Gaskins Jr, an American motivational speaker, author, life and relationship coach. His quotes on life and relationships are posted daily to his fan pages on social media and have been an inspiration to people everywhere, including Bahamians. Gaskins’ love and relationship advice for women has garnered him a huge following on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

With so many women facing difficult situations in their lives and relationships, Glennett wanted her life to become a testimony and serve the purpose of helping others find themselves and discover real love.

To this end, she founded Renu You, a group that seeks to empower and help individuals rid themselves of physical, spiritual and emotional toxins to live a well-balanced life.

For its first event, Renu You – in conjunction with Renu Day Spa in Grand Bahama – is teaming up with Gaskins to host “The Real Love Tour” in the Bahamas.

“The Real Love Tour” consists of a 60-minute seminar, a 30-minute Q&A, and is currently making stops in cities around the US.

The Bahamian events will be held on October 25 an 26, in Freeport and Nassau respectively.

Gaskins speaks on various topics, including business, success and self-development, and has appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show, the Tyra Banks Show and TBN’s 700 Club. He has become one of the most sought-after speakers in the US. In 2011, he made Under 30 CEO’s ‘Top 50 Most Motivational People on the Web’.

He is the author of several books, including “What Daddy Never Told His Little Girl”, “Eight Mistakes Women Make in Relationships”, “The Road To Destiny”, “Notebook of Love”, “Mrs Right”, “The New Guy Code”, “CEO of Me”, and “Single Is Not A Curse”.  

“ ‘The Real Love Tour Bahamas - #ToxicFree Edition’ is a continuation of the ‘Tony A Gaskins Jr Real Love Tour’ throughout the US, imparting and inspiring individuals to seek out the who, what, why, when and how about real love. It is expected that transformation of the mind and persons ridding themselves of the spiritual, mental, physical and emotional toxins that debilitate them from living a fulfilling life is what will take place,” said Raquel Hart, event manager.

“Tony Gaskins firstly is a well respected life and relationship coach whom many Bahamians follow, as his message resonates in the hearts and minds of many as well as his real life tell-it-like-it-is delivery is impactful,” she told Tribune Woman.

Ms Hart said as a life and relationship coach, Gaskins he will speak to everyday challenges men and women face that stem from relationships.

“The key impact is transformation of the mind. Additionally, attendees will be equipped with tools and tips to empower them as well as be provided with coping skills for the journey of life. We believe individuals will find real love and answers to the many silent questions that haunt. ‘Am I good enough’? ‘Am I pretty enough’? ‘Am I smart enough’? Among others that debilitate and impedes progress in key areas of life,” she said.

Renu You and “The Real Love Tour” target men and women from 18 years and up. “It does not matter your status. You can be single, married, divorced, widowed, confused, as long as you have life and relationship issues and or questions you should be attending,” she said.
