A SECOND man is now on remand at Her Majesty’s Prison after being arraigned yesterday in connection with a murder that occurred at the beginning of the year.

Garvin Adderley, 36, of Spruce Street appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt facing a charge of murder in the January 6 shooting of Marcus Miller outside his home in Millers Heights. Mr Miller died a week later in the Princess Margaret Hospital.

His co-accused, 30-year-old Jermaine Missick of Blue Bonnet Drive, was charged in February in connection with the fatal shooting and went before the Supreme Court on August 1 to plead not guilty to the murder charge.

Missick was given a trial date of April 3, 2017 before Justice Vera Watkins.

Adderley, however, will have to wait to be served with a Voluntary Bill of Indictment on November 4 in his next Magistrate’s Court appearance.

The accused will enter a plea to the charge in the Supreme Court.

The question of bail did not arise for him as the lower court no longer has the jurisdiction to consider bail in capital cases.

Adderley had no lawyer in yesterday’s arraignment.
