A WOMAN was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison yesterday after being arraigned in Magistrate’s Court on more than two dozen fraud related charges.

Malissa Michelle Connolly, 34, of Sea Breeze Drive, appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney accused of 27 charges of possession of a forged document, uttering a forged document, fraud by false pretences, attempted fraud by false pretences and conspiracy to commit fraud by false pretences.

It is alleged that Connolly possessed and used forged bank cheques drawn on the accounts of others to obtain more than $12,000. It is further alleged that she tried to obtain more than $5,000 under false pretences, but was unsuccessful.

Tia Brown, The Bridge Authority, Mosko’s United Construction Company and DC Technology are the alleged victims of fraud between June 30 and August 15.

Connolly denied the allegations and will reappear before Magistrate McKinney on September 26 for a bail hearing. She has retained Tai Pinder to defend her.
